Park Bulletins

Park sends out the Park Bulletin email every Thursday. Bulletins for each division are sent, as links, to all families and Park employees and contain news and information from the school, teachers, and community. This web page is always here for you — bookmark it and check back often!

Ride Along with the Kinetic Sculpture Race!

Join our Upper School engineer-artists as they take their human-powered 13-foot-tall sculpture — “The Statue of Li-bear-ty” — on an all-day adventure through the streets of Baltimore, into the harbor, and across sand and mud challenges! Support the team and enjoy this spectacular Baltimore event! This year’s theme: Monuments + Masterpieces. Join anywhere along the race route! No motor-powered vehicles on the course…ride along with your bike!…or park and walk to any of the checkpoints and challenges.

Download the spectators’ guide (including race map) here.

Some pro tips: To see ALL of the vehicles in their most pristine form, go to the start of the race at AVAM; to see the most spectacular fails, head to the waterfront for the water entries; to take in two fun challenges — the sand pit and the mud pit — head to Patterson Park; to celebrate the participants, head to AVAM for the race finale.

We hope you will join us at Park in working together to develop the skills and experience in engaging in constructive dialogue. On Sunday, May 5, we will offer a two-hour (2–4 p.m.) pilot session introducing some of the basic concepts and approaches that we are looking to develop into an expanded eight-session program this fall. More details can be found in the email sent to Park families on April 26.
Register here.

In addition to being committed to helping the student acculturate and thrive during their stay, host families should:
• Live within a 30-minute drive from Park School
• Secure a suitable school transportation
• Provide 2 meals a day (student may purchase lunch at school)
• Provide the student a room

It’s school election time, and while most of the school is busy enjoying their lunch break, a deadlock is taking place amongst the members of the school council. Bitter rivalries, secret alliances, and false promises are laid bare. As a ruthless battle ensues, who will win and does anyone really care? A play about politics, populism, and the ‘ping’ of a text message.
