Description: An intro to music production, participants will learn how to create their own song arrangements and compositions using a combination of electronic instruments, samples, and live instruments and vocals. Open to students of varying degrees of experience who wish to expand their creative tool-kit and collaborate with friends and classmates on projects remotely. Students will start with a few shorter projects to work on specific techniques, such as: how to create your own drum loop, how to make a bassline, how to mix and record live instruments, basic song form concepts, etc. At the end of the two weeks, students will have a larger, collaborative project and could be a cover of a favorite song, or an original composition. After this course, students will be able to take the skills they’ve learned and create both their own songs and online collaborations with their friends and “band mates!”
