Whether they are doing research in the arctic, steering a skipjack on the Chesapeake Bay, or living history in Jamestown, students at Park are active participants in their education beyond the classroom. [view]
Starting in September, students' experiences expand their understanding of themes studied across the Middle School. Check back often, as this tour will evolve, tracing a year in the life of Middle School. [view]
The 2003 AIMS Evaluation commended Park for exemplifying "the best of American educational practices." High quality programs and excellent teaching require intensive collaborative work by faculty, often beyond what is possible during the school year. The F. Parvin Sharpless Faculty and Curricular Advancement Program provides the time to develop curriculum while keeping teaching fresh and creative. Over the past 19 years, FACA has supported 167 faculty projects and 780 faculty grants. Several of the 2007 summer projects are shown here. [view]
"You can be anything you want, Grace..." Thirty quotations from favorite books decorate the walls of the newest edition of the Park School libraries. Opened in August 2006, the 9,100 square foot space is a place for reading, reflection, study, discussion, inquiry, insight, and imagination. [view]

The 44,000 square foot Wyman Arts Center: two galleries, an outdoor amphitheater, Meyerhoff Theater, Macks-Fidler Black Box Theater, practice rooms, rehearsal space, and ceramics, 3-D sculpture, woodworking, jewelry, painting, photography, digital graphics studios, recording studio, and keyboard lab. athletics

Our athletes compete in cross country, soccer, field hockey, tennis, basketball, softball, baseball, and soccer. Teams are fielded from fourth grade to Upper School. Our students win conference finals and are named to All-Conference teams. 29 alumni play on college teams. Park athletes: competitive every season. [view]
The 42,000 square foot athletic center contains three basketball courts, the Lyn P. Meyerhoff Fitness Center, visiting and home team locker rooms, and an outdoor swimming pool. Two additional basketball courts are located in the Blaustein wing of the main building. There are five playing fields on Park's main campus and four on the Sugar Campus. [view]

The new Lower School playground is a result of conversation and planning by students, faculty, and architects. It includes a two-foot deep sand "river," a climbing structure with slides and bridges, swings, a net climber referred to as The Spider, a basketball court, and plenty of open space for soccer and Capture the Flag. There are also shaded seating areas, a water fountain, and a mister for hot days. Lower School students talk about the playground in this slide show. [view]

Celebrating those retiring: Students, parents, and friends feted Dr. Jackson at a picnic on Tompkins Field. Over one hundred faculty and friends gathered at the Gramercy Mansion on a perfect spring evening to honor departing faculty and staff. [view]
Park's Appalachian Challenge program has more than 40 initiatives designed to build confidence, leadership, communication and teamwork skills, and character for Park Middle and Upper School students. Begun in 1974, the Challenge program is run by Park student leaders. These leaders continue to design and construct new initiatives each year. [view]
