Terracycle at Park

Lower School students at Park participate in a Terracycle collection program under the leadership of third grade teacher, Ms. Hoitsma. Through this program, the students collect previously non-recyclable or difficult-to-recycle waste. The collected items are sent to Terracycle to be recycled into useful objects such as backpacks, umbrellas, or shopping bags.

For each shipment sent to Terracycle, the school earns "charity points." Last Fall, Ms. Hoitsma's third graders earned enough charity points to "buy" geese and chicks for families to raise in Central America, clean water, clean diapers, food to feed a family, and even several plots of wilderness to stay pristine!

Members of the Park community are invited to drop off items listed below. There are collection boxes in the Kindergarten, the Lower School, the Middle School, the Upper School, and the cafeteria.
