Aside from making your Annual Fund gift, the most important gift you can make to Park is your time. Through the Development Office, there are many opportunities that need both short and long term volunteers! Join us and see how you can make a difference in our community.
Check out how these two groups are volunteering for Park:
Under the leadership of our Chair of Development Len Weinberg ’76 (parent of three alumni) and our Chair of Annual Fund Tom Wetzler ’84 (current Park parent and parent of an alum), the Annual Fund has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years, raising over $1.67 million for the 2014-15 campaign -- our best year ever -- and receiving continued interest in planned gifts to the endowment. Donors also came together to celebrate the retirements of Lucky Mallonee ’62 and Garry Cerrone, creating the Garry Cerrone MakerSpace and donating over $400,000 to the Lucky Mallonee ’62 Financial Assistance Fund.
Park students know the importance of the Annual Fund. The Upper School's Annual Fund Club’s mission is to bridge the gap between past, present, and future Park students through making calls, yearly spirit days, donor thank you events, and educating the student body about the purpose of the Annual Fund. Goals for the club this year include raising the average amount of tuition assistance for a student at Park (approximately $16,000), expanding Be A Bruin Day (a day of thanks for Annual Fund donors), and increasing awareness of the importance of the Annual Fund for the school.
Annual Fund volunteers help secure donations (by phone, email, and letters), help plan Annual Fund events, and serve as ambassadors for the important work the Annual Fund does. Join the Annual Fund Volunteer team for an event, a semester, or a year! There are needs and activities to fit every level of time commitment. Email Kira Lanier ’04 at Klanier@parkschool.net for more information.
Special events are a great way for the Park community to get involved. Park’s Auction is our largest event fundraiser, and requires a team of volunteers to plan and run. This year, the Park Auction will be held on November 21, 2015. We need volunteers to help with set-up and running the auction! Email Jayme Gilden Wood ’93 at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Use your Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram skills to share your Park contributions and encourage others. Email Kira Lanier ’04 at Klanier@parkschool.net for more information on how to get involved with the Social Media Team.
Make a deeper commitment to the Bruin community by joining fellow alumni on the Alumni Council. Help plan alumni events such as Alumni Weekend while nurturing connections between Park and the alumni community. Email Pailin Gaither at email@example.com to learn how you can get involved.
