Instructions

The Park School Used Book Forum is an internet listing service for those families who wish to sell their used textbooks and for families in search of used books for the upcoming school year.

Accessing the Park School Forum

  1. Click HERE to be taken automatically to the Park School forum website.
  2. Type in the Park School password: bruins.
  3. We have created a single login ID for the Used Book Forum. The login ID and the password are both usedbooks.

Shopping for Books

Each book for sale should be listed with a subject identifying its academic topic. Click on the entries that are of potential interest to you. To return to the main forum listing, click on the link at the top left of the screen (Used Book Listing Service). If you identify books that you would like to buy, contact the seller directly.

Selling Books

  1. To create an entry in the forum, click the subject of the book to be sold.
  2. Click on the link on the right of the screen which says New Topic. You will see the screen where you should enter the books information.
  3. In the Message Subject: field, enter the title of the book and the class (if you know it) of the book to be sold.
  4. In the body of the entry, enter the information for each book including:
    • Book information (title, author, edition, ISBN)
    • Course for which the book was used
    • Condition of the book (new, excellent, good, fair, minimal)
    • Asking price for the book
    • Contact information (however you would like interested buyers to get in touch with you)
  5. When you are finished, click the Post Message button at the bottom of the screen.
  6. In the upper left corner, click on the link that says Forums to return to the main screen.

 

After the Sale

Sellers should return to the forum after they have sold a book to remove their information. This helps keep the list of available books accurate and will prevent unwanted future contacts by hopeful buyers. To remove a message, click on your own entry. At the bottom right of that entry will be a Delete link. Click that to remove your message.
