The Park School seeks a dedicated, experienced Middle School educator for the position of Middle School Dean of Students.
The Middle School Dean of Students’ most important responsibility will be to cultivate relationships with students, faculty, and parents, and to help create a joyful, stimulating, and rewarding middle school experience for each Park student. This person must also support and partner with the principal, assisting and handling various administrative duties and student issues.
Park’s Middle School offers a dynamic curriculum and diverse co-curricular programming that allows adolescents to experience coursework, overnight trips, activities, outdoor education, advisory groups, artistic and athletic endeavors, and most importantly—the formation of life-long relationships. While building robust academic skills, our students develop strong identities, learn about the communities in which they work and live, and learn to advocate strongly for themselves and others. The Middle School Dean of Students will work to coordinate many of these elements.

Administrators and faculty collaborate in developing programs to meet students’ academic and social/emotional needs. The faculty role is a fully professional one: in addition to taking full responsibility for students’ learning in core subject areas and their emotional growth, classroom teachers individually and collectively are the creators of the curriculum. With oversight by the Middle School Principal, they engage in ongoing curriculum development and review, both as grade level teams and in cross-grade level and division-wide initiatives. Faculty and administrators are also very involved in divisional and school-wide diversity initiatives.

Under current policy, faculty and administrators who have been employed at Park full-time for two years are eligible to receive full tuition remission for their children who attend Park. All applicants, including faculty children, must meet Park’s standards for admission. (During the first two years of employment, faculty can apply for support through the need-based financial assistance program.)
